The next SpaceX rocket launch in Florida is set for early Tuesday. Here's what to know.

It's been more than a week since the Space Coast has heard the rumble of a Falcon 9 rocket − but that is about to change.

The next launch, which is carrying the latest batch of SpaceX's Starlink internet satellites to orbit, was delayed for a week while Tropical Storm Imelda passed by the Florida coast. SpaceX did not release an official statement on the delay.

The mission is referred to as Starlink 10-59, and is set to lift off atop a Falcon 9 rocket no earlier than 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

If needed, SpaceX states it has until 4:10 a.m. to launch.

Upon liftoff, the Falcon 9 rocket will travel on a northeast trajectory.

No Space Coast sonic booms will be heard, as the rocket's first stage will land on a SpaceX drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.

But this will not be the only liftoff set for the upcoming week. A second SpaceX launch is tentatively set for 9:56 p.m. Oct. 8 from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This mission will be the next batch of Amazon's Project Kuiper internet satellites − marking the third launch of the satellites atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

SpaceX launched another batch of its Starlink broadband satellites to orbit early this morning (Oct. 7).

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying 28 Starlink satellites lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida today at 2:46 a.m. EDT (0646 GMT).

The rocket's first stage came back to Earth as planned about 8.5 minutes later, touching down in the Atlantic Ocean on the SpaceX drone ship "A Shortfall of Gravitas."

It was the eighth launch and landing for this particular booster, which is designated B1090.

The Falcon 9's upper stage continued hauling the Starlink satellites toward low Earth orbit (LEO), where they're scheduled to be deployed about 64 minutes after liftoff.

Today's launch was the 126th flight of the year for the workhorse Falcon 9, and the 130th liftoff overall for SpaceX.

The other four were suborbital test flights of the Starship megarocket, which the company is developing to help humanity settle Mars. Starship's fifth test launch of the year is coming up soon — it's scheduled for Oct. 13.
