What to know: SpaceX rocket launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida early Friday

With Blue Origin's New Glenn delayed, the SpaceX launch of its latest batch of Starlink satellites is next up from the Space Coast!

The Blue Origin rocket was delayed to no earlier than 1 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 due to unfavorable conditions offshore. The company delayed the launch to maximize chances at successfully landing the first-stage of the new rocket on its drone ship in the Atlantic.

This brings the SpaceX launch to the front of the line.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Starlink 12-12 mission is set to occur during a window ranging from 10:27 a.m. to 2:58 p.m. Friday. SpaceX has confirmed they are aiming to launch at 11:21 a.m.. The Friday morning SpaceX liftoff will be from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40.

SpaceX has yet to confirm, but usually liftoff is aimed at the earlier part of the window. Weather conditions at the Cape and booster landing location play a role in timing.
