Overnight launch: SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to illuminate early Wednesday sky over Cape

SpaceX appears to be targeting an early Wednesday morning Starlink launch, according to Geospatial Navigational and FAA warnings.

A navigational warning titled "Starlink 8-9" is listed with a window running from 2:01 a.m. to 6:31 a.m. Wednesday from Cape Canaveral. SpaceX has not yet confirmed this mission.

The navigational warning indicates that the rocket could lift off as early as 2:01 a.m. from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40, which is located south of Kennedy Space Center. However, weather at the launch and booster landing site could impact the timing. SpaceX has yet to give an official targeted liftoff time.

This next batch of Starlink internet satellites will launch into orbit atop the 230-foot tall Falcon 9 rocket, which will light up the sky as it ascends. Being in the eighth group of the satellite constellation, the rocket will travel northeast.

For those awake, or those who have their alarms set — a night launch is hard to miss as it turns the darkness of night practically into day around the rocket.

STARLINK MISISON

On Wednesday, July 3 at 4:55 a.m. ET, Falcon 9 launched 20 Starlink satellites, including 13 with Direct to Cell capabilities, to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

This was the 16th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched SES-22, ispace's HAKUTO-R MISSION 1, Amazonas-6, CRS-27, Bandwagon-1, and now 11 Starlink missions.
