Weekend Launches: Friday night SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, Saturday Boeing's crewed Starliner

SpaceX is preparing to launch another batch of Starlink satellites on Friday night, kicking off a weekend of launch activity as Boeing's Starliner prepares for its inaugural and much-delayed crewed launch on Saturday.

According to a Geospatial Navigational Warning and Federal Aviation Administration advisory, SpaceX is targeting Friday evening for its next Starlink launch. While SpaceX has yet to confirm, the FAA refers to this mission as Starlink 6-64.

The launch windows indicate the launch will be between 6:43 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. EDT. While SpaceX usually targets early in the given launch window, various factors, such as weather at the launch and booster landing sites, can impact liftoff time.

SpaceX has not revealed the identity of the Falcon 9 booster. However, the Falcon 9 used for this launch will land out on a droneship in the Atlantic Ocean. No local sonic booms are expected.
