ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV, scheduled to launch at 3.02 pm on Saturday will carry all-weather earth imaging satellite EOS-01 and nine foreign satellites in its 51st flight.
ISRO, in an announcement, said the countdown for the launch of PSLV-C49/EOS commenced on Friday. The mission which is scheduled to carry all-weather earth imaging satellite EOS-01, will be launched at 3.02 pm Saturday from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
The PSLVC49 mission will also carry nine foreign satellites under a commercial agreement with New Space India Limited (NSIL), Department of Space.
"Countdown for the launch of #PSLVC49/#EOS01 mission commenced today at 1302 Hrs (IST) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota," the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said in a tweet on Friday.
EOS-01, the rocket's primary payload is an all-weather earth imaging satellite. Also known as the RISAT-2BR2, the earth imaging satellite is intended to aid applications in agriculture, forestry and disaster management.
This will be the 76th launch vehicle mission from Sriharikota spaceport and the 51st flight of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle 'PSLV'. According to reports, this will be the second flight of PSLC with 'DL' variant with strap-on boosters.
On its official website, ISRO has mentioned that the launch viewing gallery will be closed on November 7 during the launch of PSLV-C49/EOS-01 in light of Covid-19 precautions.
In June of this year, ISRO chairman K Sivan said in response to a question about 10 space missions being prepared by the agency for 2020, "Because of this (Covid-19), everything got disturbed. We have to make an assessment after the Covid-19 issue is resolved."

PSLV successfully launches EOS-01 and nine customer satellites from Sriharikota
Today, India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, in its fifty first flight (PSLV-C49), successfully launched EOS-01 along with nine international customer satellites from the First Launch Pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota.
PSLV-C49 lifted-off at 1511 Hrs (IST), after a delay of nine minutes because of inclement weather conditions observed during countdown. After 15 minutes and 20 seconds, EOS-01 was successfully injected into its orbit. Subsequently, nine commercial satellites were injected into their intended orbits. After separation, the two solar arrays of EOS-01 were deployed automatically and the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network at Bengaluru assumed control of the satellite. In the coming days, the satellite will be brought to its final operational configuration.
“PSLV-C49 successfully placed all ten satellites precisely into their orbit” Chairman, ISRO, Dr. K. Sivan declared. He congratulated both the launch vehicle and satellite teams for rising to the occasion amidst the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. Dr. K. Sivan also briefed about the upcoming missions.
EOS-01 is an earth observation satellite, intended for applications in agriculture, forestry and disaster management support.
The nine customer satellites from Lithuania (1), Luxembourg (4) and USA(4) were launched under a commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).
PSLV-C49 is the 2nd flight of PSLV in 'DL' configuration (with 2 solid strap-on motors). Besides being the 51st launch of PSLV, today’s launch was also the 76th launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota.
